Buongiorno a tutti!! Non vedevo l'ora di condividere con voi queste foto e quest'esperienza. Alcuni giorni fa ho avuto l'onore ed il privilegio di rappresentare La Primavera di Botticelli sul famoso veliero della Marina Militare italiana "Amerigo Vespucci", attraccato al porto di Livorno.
Il veliero è stato costruito nel 1931 come nave scuola per l'addestramento degli allievi dell'Accademia Navale, tutt'oggi è ancora in perfette condizioni e con un fascino che solo una nave storica come l'Amerigo Vespucci potrebbe avere. Ha avuto modo nei suoi 81 anni di ospitare illustri personaggi della politica italiana, di quella straniera, pluripremiati sportivi, reali inglesi ed è perfino stato adibito al trasporto della Fiamma Olimpica dalla Grecia all'Italia, fiamma che ancora si può ammirare all'interno della nave nel corridoio principale.
La ragazza che vedete nelle foto con me si chiama Benedetta ed interpretava Simonetta Vespucci. Insieme rappresentavamo il quadro vivente in una giornata di festa per il veliero.
Dopo l'emozione dell'Amerigo Vespucci, nel pomeriggio, l'interpretazione del quadro vivente con la Primavera di Botticelli si è spostato al Salone dei Cinquecento, a Palazzo Vecchio, a Firenze in occasione di una conferenza che vedeva ospite l'Università Georgetown, i suoi studenti in erasmus a Firenze, il console americano presso la sede dell'ambasciata di Firenze,gli assessori fiorentini e alcuni illustri professori. Sfortunatamente a Palazzo Vecchio le uniche foto che ho, sono state scattate con il cellulare ma ne ho impresse infinite nella mia mente, che spero di avervi trasmesso attraverso le mie parole.
Un ringraziamento anche alla Fondazione Spadolini che ha organizzato l'evento e ha approvato la presenza del quadro vivente. E infine un ringraziamento speciale a Mariagrazia Giardi, alla quale devo la mia partecipazione e interpretazione della Primavera, e in particolare alla quale devo il ricordo di momenti indimenticabili.
Non dimenticherò mai l'esperienza vissuta quel giorno,sia il veliero "Amerigo Vespucci" che il Salone dei Cinquecento di Palazzo Vecchio sono due luoghi che definisco magici ma poterli vivere nella veste di Primavera è stato ancor più emozionante. Una giornata in onore di Firenze e dei suoi grandi nomi scritti nel libro della storia: Vespucci e Botticelli.
Un'ultima frase prima di lasciarvi alle foto: il motto del veliero Vespucci, un motto ancor oggi attuale e a cui tutti noi dovremmo ispirarci...

Some days ago I had the honour and the privilege to represent the Spring of Botticelli on the famous Italian Naval sailing ship "Amerigo Vespucci", docked in Livorno's port.
The sailing ship is built in 1931 as school-ship for the training of the Naval Academy cadets. Today is still in perfect conditions and with a charm that just an historical ship like the Amerigo Vespucci could have. In his 81 years, it had the opportunity of hosting illustrious italian political figures, foreign political figures, award-winning sportsmen and sportswomen, members of English Royal family and it is even used for the transport of Olympic flame, from Greece to Italy; the flame is still in the ship, you can see it in the main corridor.
The girl with me in the pictures calls Benedetta and she played the role of Simonetta Vespucci. Together we represent the living scene in a feast day for the sailing ship.
After the big emotion of being on Amerigo Vespucci, in the afternoon the living scene with the Primavera of Botticelli moved to Salone dei Cinquecento, at Palazzo Vecchio, in Florence, on the occasion of a conference that gave ospitality to Georgetown University, her students in erasmus in Florence, the American consul at Florence base, florentine assessors and some notable professors. Sfortunatelly the only photos that I have at Palazzo Vecchio are took with a phone, so the quality is not really good but I have many of them stuck in my mind and I hope to have transmitted them to you by my words.
Thanks to Fondazione Spadolini that organized the event and approved the presence of living scene.
And finally thanks to Mariagrazia Giardi, to which I owe my participation and interpetation of the Spring of Botticelli and in particular to which I owe the memory of unforgettable moments.
I'll never forget the experience gone throught that day, both the Amerigo Vespucci sailing ship and the Salone dei Cinquecento at Palazzo Vecchio are places that I define magic but having the possibility to live all this in character the Spring is been even more exciting.
A day in honour of Florence and of high Florentine names, written in the historical book: Vespucci and Botticelli.
